Our first pop-up!
In June 2019 we did our very first pop-up shop in Manchester with Enterprise Nation, it was a scheme launched by the brilliant Emma Jones MBE to support start-ups and the high street.
The pop-up was based in a wonderful retail space in 5 St Mary’s Gate in the center of Manchester. The space was glass-fronted but inside it was stripped back, minimal and a host of original features- with a nod to its industrial past. The space opened for 10 weeks and had different brands in there which changed every two weeks.
On the Sunday before opening, we went to the space to set up and decorate our shop. We met other traders including the wonderful Tim from Twoodle who make amazing vegan and cruelty free candles and diffusers and the lovely Jenny who owns Nordic Muse which have beautiful handmade jewellery. It was brilliant to be able to design our ‘shop’ as Careaux with pieces that represented us and our brand.
The shop officially opened on Monday 3rd June and we were there for one week with Ben Thompson covering the launch with BBC Breakfast. The first day was great and to make the launch there was a special reception after closing in which a wonderful group of people attended including the incredible Pro-Manchester team, the brilliant Keman from The Prince’s Trust and the amazing Heather Gray.
The week was a great experience and we met so many wonderful people doing it. We absolutely loved it and we can’t wait for our next pop-up!
