#CloserThroughKindness Charity T-Shirt
STORY
-
Laura and I wanted to do something to support the crisis that is affecting us all so much. As part of our #CloserThroughKindness campaign, we have created limited edition 'Closer Through Kindness' t-shirts. As soon as we heard a lot of factories have suffered from a substantial loss of orders due to the crisis we wanted to support them in whatever way we could. The t-shirts were created with the work of our wonderful pattern-cutter Barbara and lovingly made by the not-for-profit factory, Fashion Enter, who are currently making PPE for our phenomenal NHS staff too.
The t-shirts are made from organic cotton knitted by a family business in England and are available in all sizes. Each of the t-shirts will be free-hand embroidered by Rachel. The royal blue heart will be embroidered using organic cotton thread with lines of metallic silver thread coming together within the heart to represent kindness. The sequins are made from recycled plastic bottles and will be sewn onto each t-shirt by hand.
100% of the profits will be split equally between four incredible charities supporting those most vulnerable during this crisis: Prince's Trust, Age UK , The Trussell Trust and Pearce Ward at Wythenshawe Hospital, part of Manchester Foundation Trust Charity.
Let's come together to celebrate kindness and support those most in need. Use the #CloserThroughKindness hashtag to tag someone who has shown kindness or to let someone know you are thinking of them and they are not alone.

Age UK was founded in 2009 and is the UK’s largest charity for older people. They offer support through information and advice, health and care, wellbeing and campaigning and researching to help make life better for the older people of today and of the future.
Demand for their services has increased dramatically and older people need help more than ever. During this time, Age UK have answered over 33,000 calls for help, supported over 69,000 isolated and lonely people and there are 130 local Age UKs delivering vital services such as food parcels and home from hospital support. Their work continues to help and support vulnerable, isolated and lonely older people.
Food banks in the network have seen an increase of 81% in need for emergency food parcels, including 122% more parcels going to children compared to the same period last year – that’s over 6,250 food parcels provided to people in crisis every day, with close to 3,000 parcels provided for children each day during the last two weeks of March.
The Trust have responded to this by recruiting 20,000 additional volunteers, establishing a new nationwide supply chain for essential food items, the establishment of a nationwide delivery infrastructure and the establishment of a nationwide e-referral process.
